The Mayan Doomsday Prophecy

Nick Hunt’s article revisits the Mayan doomsday prophecy of 2012, exploring how an ancient calendar became the focus of global apocalyptic fears. At its heart is a clash between two contrasting worldviews of time.

I adapted the article into a micro-documentary, bringing together archival imagery, historical diagrams, newspaper clippings and location footage from multiple sources, alongside custom graphics I created for the film.

The challenge was to weave these disparate elements into a coherent visual narrative that could make a complex subject accessible without losing its sense of intrigue.
